PLANT POWER 4.0 – THE NEXT REVOLUTION IN PLANT PROTEINS

PLANT POWER 4.0 – THE NEXT REVOLUTION IN PLANT PROTEINSOUR KEY INSIGHTS FROM FI EUROPE 2025 This year’s edition of FI Europe 2025 in Paris confirmed what the industry has been signalling for months: advanced plant proteins are no longer a trend — they have become a permanent pillar of innovation within the food ingredients sector. “Plant-based” is no longer an optional category. It has become the new standard.   The exhibition halls were filled with premieres of technologies redefining how protein ingredients are designed and produced. Roquette, Ingredion, DSM Food Specialties, and Cargill showcased ingredients with enhanced sensory and nutritional profiles — from pea and chickpea proteins to microalgae and chia seed derivatives.    “Clients now expect ingredients that are natural, highly bioavailable, and produced in accordance with the highest purity and quality standards. This is accelerating the development of advanced filtration and enzymatic modification technologies,” notes Aleksandra Lendo-Więch, Sales Director at TORPOL.  According to Innova Market Insights (October 2025), the global plant protein market is growing at over 12% annually. As consumers increasingly look for short, transparent, clean-label ingredient lists, companies are implementing solutions that enhance traceability and environmental responsibility.    „At the fair, we paid particular attention to blockchain technologies and IoT systems enabling origin tracking and precise monitoring of carbon footprints,” emphasizes Urszula Ostapowicz, Business Development Manager at TORPOL.   FI Europe’s discussion panels focused heavily on sustainable supply chains and regenerative agriculture. Ingredion presented a full-cycle CO₂ reduction program, attracting investors who expect measurable environmental actions. „Sustainability is no longer an added value — it is the price of entry. At TORPOL, we also concentrate on solutions that connect food safety, functional performance, and environmental responsibility,” adds Monika Lipska, Chief Operating & Development Officer.   As Nikola Lipska, Trade Marketing Manager, highlights: „FFI Europe is where ideas meet practice. The breakthroughs in plant proteins clearly show that the future of the food ingredients industry lies in balancing technology, transparency, and social responsibility.”   Advanced filtration, purification, and enzymatic modification processes are overcoming the key limitations of plant proteins — flavour, texture, and functionality. As a result, plant-based products are achieving new quality standards, and their commercial potential is expanding far beyond dietary niches. Removing allergens, improving amino-acid profiles, and enhancing solubility are redefining what modern proteins can be.     Behind this technological revolution stands a quiet but strategic element: safe and functional packaging. It is packaging that preserves the purity and stability of next-generation ingredients. TORPOL — a producer of advanced, multi-layer paper sacks for the food industry — is developing solutions that protect protein powders and ensure controlled storage and transport conditions.   As the plant-based ingredient market becomes one of the key growth engines of the food ingredient sector, reliable packaging is not just the final link in the chain – it is a prerequisite for maintaining the quality standards required by a sustainable tomorrow.     Let’s talk about your packaging standards Let’s schedule a convenient time to discuss how our packaging solutions can support your company and ensure product safety throughout the supply chain.   We look forward to connecting with you!Torpol Team

FLEXOGRAPHY AND TORPOL

FLEXOGRAPHY AND TORPOL PASSION, PRECISION, AND SAFETY AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL In flexographic packaging production, every detail matters — from ink quality and substrate properties to the experience of the operators. At TORPOL, we combine innovative technologies with the practical expertise of our team to create paper packaging that meets the highest standards of quality and aesthetics.   TRAINING WITH CHESPA – A SOLID FOUNDATION FOR QUALITY As part of our long-term collaboration with Chespa — a renowned manufacturer of photopolymer plates and flexographic inks — our specialists, graphic designer Krzysztof Truszyński and printers Paweł Sypytkowski and Marcin Zawistowski, participated in an advanced training program focused on improving the flexographic printing process.   The program included an in-depth analysis of water-based ink properties, the influence of substrate type on print quality, techniques of solid and halftone printing, and precise control of ink viscosity and intensity.During the practical sessions, participants worked on eliminating common production issues such as ink foaming, color instability, and structural defects. The acquired knowledge enhances process stability, repeatability, and the visual quality of our packaging.   FLEXO WORKSHOPS 2025 – A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO SAFETY AND QUALITY This year’s workshops were built around the theme “The Seven Samurai and The Magnificent Seven” — symbolizing the courage to fight for safety in modern flexographic production environments. Inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s legendary film and its Western adaptation, the event emphasized teamwork, responsibility, and continuous improvement.   Alongside technical panels and hands-on training sessions, participants attended lectures by experts in psychology and workplace safety — focusing particularly on cybersecurity and risk management. Topics included data protection in production, best practices for preventing digital threats, and modern quality control methods.   Among the participants were TORPOL printers Paweł Sypytkowski, Marcin Zawistowski, and Ariel Gudanowski, who actively contributed to discussions on real-world challenges and technological innovations shaping the industry.   As Paweł Sypytkowski emphasized: “Responsibility and vigilance are the foundation of our daily work. They guarantee production continuity and top-level quality.”     THE POWER OF PEOPLE AND TECHNOLOGY TORPOL continues to invest in team competence and collaboration with industry experts.
